2 weeks ago, the chief fellow called me personally and said we have to meet. Based on my tremendous experience with this sort of thing around here, I immediately assumed I had done something bad yet again, but this time, it was not about me at all. Turns out, he told me, F2(the other second year girl) had "resigned." My first reaction: Good for her! If I had it bad, I think she had it worse. She had followers and observers on her heels recently, discussing her history and physical skills - that's just what I noticed. Noticed and thought, how humiliating and insulting for a licensed physician to be treated like a beginner medical student! There were also lots of other whispered rustles in the grapevine, but nothing is ever transparent around here, so no one knew. So, I thought, good for her, no more abuse, maybe now the program will see what it can drive people to do if they continue to beat people down! They've lost one! In the last week, all at once, some annoying things whacked me and I don't know how to handle it! We all know how much of a creature of habit I am, and how I hate when things change. Little by litte, maybe, if it's careful, change can whittle away at me, but it takes subtlety and tact. On the other hand, completely without regard for my feelings, last Monday, they axed the only morning sbow I would listen to, the FNX Sandbox, firing two of their mornig DJs without an explanation - at least, to the viewers. This is several months after they unceremoniously took BCN off the air, ridding Boston once and for all of its only decent alternative station that actually gets reception - and a much shorter time after I finally accepted that fact. Now, FNX has an annoying new dude with a lame new show and annoying jokes, who just happens to be some sort of big cheese at the station, and who apparently, put himself on the air in the most listened-to spot.
