Don't laugh but...

So, my first weekday back from my Amsterdam vacation, and I'm heading westward on the highway, off to an ultrasound appointment, and then clinic, and then maybe some scoping in the afternoon. I'm whistling while I'm driving, and life is good; I'm even pleasantly surprised that there is not much traffic, and I muse to myself about the benefits of leaving the house an hour early, trafficwise. There is a huge pothole without any kind of cone, and I spot it and avoid it successfully, and I pat myself on the back.

I arrive at my appointment, and decide to leave the car by the curb, illegally parked, because I'll only be a second. So, I'm swiftly pulling over when I drive right into the curb. This happens, right? You sometimes skim the curb when pulling over too close? I mean, it's not celebrated, but it happens, it's not unusual. Unless it's happening to me.

Because I also exploded my tire!

I mean, the thing was busted. It had a tear in it the size of my fist. The car looked so very very sad ... like a woman with a broken high heel... or a three legged dog...

I call AAA - and guess what. I'm not on the membership! Only hubby! How does that make sense? I'm the bad driver! I'm the one that gets all the crap, ususally! But that's how it is, and AAA refuses to come unless the card holder makes the call AND stays with the vehicle. I have clinic in one hour, and I can't get from that hospital to my hospital without a car! I'm whining on the phone to the husband, who sighs and huffs, but agrees to come over and call AAA for me.

While I'm waiting, I saunter over to the valet guys, and it occurs to me... So I ask them if by any chance... you fine gentlemen... would be able to...?

Thank god I'm still relatively young and sort of cute. In 15 years, I won't be able to pull this damsel in distress shit. I mean, I can try but it won't work! And that makes me sad.

I gave them each $20 out of sheer embarrassment - twice what I would have paid at a garage...

So, let's hear it for the girl who should win an award for the most car issues that were all her fault in the shortest amount of time!

And the punchline? I didn't even HAVE an ultrasound this morning! Flat tire, and out $300 (to buy a new one, put it on, rotate the tires and fix the alignment that the guy at NTB assured me I needed to do), and all for nothing.

Also, since I promise I'd chronicle my tamoxifen experience, it's been benign; there is no hunger or anything similar to the clomid rage, but what I do have is a very unfortunate case of checne, that is, chest acne. I've been slathering myself with clearsil as if it was sunblock. I look like a spotted leopard, and it's fucking gross.
