Monday Mojito mirage

Superbrown took this picture.

It's a portrait.

It's called... Are you a mirage, oh rum flavored wanderer...

As far as artsiness goes, please note the delicate balance of the composition, and the uncanny way the pink drink is accented by the flower in the lower right corner and the blush of the unknown girl's cheek. Additionally, clearly, the focus of the portrait is, in fact, not the drink, but rather the lonely yet vivid brown eye in the upper left corner. Mysterious, like the Mona Lisa. What is she looking for... Where is the other eye... What was the artist's intention... We shall never know.

Little girls grow up

This weekend, my BFF finally made an honest man out of her BF. Two weeks ago, she was here for final preparations, and it happened to come out that I tend to cry at weddings. This simple fact caused so much uproar and incredulity, that I was partially offended: why is it so surprising? Is it because I'm such a heartless bi-atch that I am dead inside and nothing gets to me? To show all the people out there who believe that I have no soul, I dedicate this entire post to the wedding. Here we have the beautiful bride-to-be in her gorgeous hotel suite (bigger than her actual living quarters), sporting bridal bunny ears provided by the mother-in-law to be. We had a small gathering of 2 mother hens, 2 regular hens, some little chickens, and 1 gay guy in the hotel the night before - champagne flowed and dirty jokes were made. Right after, I spent the night in bed with the bride, and we spasmed together all night long. Actually, I spasmed - apparently, I have seizures in my sleep - hence, t...

Belated outrage

http://crooksandliars.com/logan-murphy/ohio-republican-re-introduces-bill-gi So, a pro life Republican lawmaker wants to re-introduce a bill which would make abortion impossible unless written permission slips from both parents are signed. There is so much wrong with this, I don't even know where to start. I think I'll start with the point of view of a pro-choice woman. I am not a feminist, not really, not in the classic sense of the word. However, by this age, I can recognize when rights are being granted and then taken away. So, by telling a woman that yes, she has the right to choose - but only if a man agrees, and signs a paper - is patronizing, offensive and incongruent. Plus, I'd like to point out the blind assumption that every woman who is pregnant out there has a man whose permission she has the chance to obtain; this implies horrendous stigma, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not even talking about special cases, like rape or incest, although it's wor...
